ABOUT
Imagine waking up with less pain, feeling stronger, and more connected to your body—our goal is to make that vision your reality.
At ParaMotion, we’re here to support you on your journey of living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), and related conditions like Autism and ADHD, and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).
No matter what exercise program you follow, some movement might not be optimal for the EDS body and can still lead to injury and flares. That's why, we are handpicking everything from Pilates, Yoga, Functional Strength and Mobility training in our program so that it's safe and causes no pain.
EDS patients need different style of guidance than others so it's not only the exercises but also the ability to understand how the EDS body reacts to certain movements and cue it into the right alignment.
ParaMotion reflects our philosophy: "Para" stands for the parasympathetic nervous system which is turned off for most of us as we are stuck in a fight-or-flight sympathetic state. "Motion" represents movement by which we can learn to turn on our parasympathetic system to promote tissue connection, ease pain, and prevent injury.

Our Story
Turning a Diagnosis into a Mission
Over a decade ago, after several burnouts and being diagnosed with IBS, Anxiety and Depression while pursuing a degree in Math and Entrepreneurship, I had to pause my education and go to rehab for chronic pain. At the rehab center, I was finally diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). Suddenly, I was navigating a condition that affects so many—especially women (ratio 3:1)—yet is often misunderstood and overlooked by the medical community. After the diagnosis, I was told that there is not much we can do about it and that I had to just live with it. The only treatment that was given was meditation therapy to unlearn the pain and advice to avoid stretching and intensive workouts.
Like many others, I quickly realized that doctors and therapists didn’t have the answers I needed. I was left to figure things out on my own, diving into research, trying countless treatments, and experimenting with exercises in search of relief. I did not want to accept that severe pain and constant flares and injury were unchangeable parts of my life. I knew there must be more than can be done and I just needed to find it.

A Journey of Trial and Error
I explored everything: yoga, strength training and mobility work. While each brought some relief, none provided lasting change. Every small victory seemed followed by setbacks—injuries, pain, and frustration. Even as I pursued my degree, simple tasks like attending class or taking exams felt like uphill battles. I know how frustrating and isolating it can feel to be stuck in a cycle of pain and recovery.

Creating My ParaMotion Method
I knew I needed a solution that truly addressed my condition. That’s when I discovered LYT Yoga with Lara Heimann. Her teachings on biomechanics and anatomy completely shifted my understanding of movement, emphasizing alignment, functional movement, and core stability. LYT was a huge help, but I needed something more specific for EDS. That’s when I found the Integral Movement Method (IMM) by Jeanne Di Bon, which was designed for people with EDS. IMM focuses on principles like breath control, relaxation to release tension, and proprioception to enhance sensory awareness. It also emphasizes joint stability, balance in dynamic movement, and maintaining a posture that supports daily life. This approach was a game-changer. After becoming certified in both methods, I combined them to create ParaMotion.

Embracing Holistic Healing
Managing EDS isn’t just about movement. Through additional training from EDS Society through the EDS ECHO courses, I learned how vital a holistic approach is to living well with EDS. We need to take into account the entire body and work in parallel on several levels targeting the nervous system, the digestive system and the musculoskeletal & Fascial systems.

Sharing What I’ve Learned
Looking back, I wish I had known all of this sooner. It took years of trial and error to figure out what really worked. Now, I’m on a mission to share these insights with others. I want to help you find relief faster, so you can live a healthier, fuller life—without the long, frustrating detours I experienced.

ParaMotion's Principles
Parasympathetic Activation
Transition from the sympathetic nervous system’s fight or flight response—often a common state for many EDS patients—by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system. This can be achieved by utilizing 3D breathing through fluid movements, which promotes relaxation and tension release.
Functional Stability and Strength
We practice movements that align closely with everyday activities so that we build strength and stability which we can use on and off the mat. This reduces injury and pain resulting from harmful movement patterns
Awareness through Brain Mapping
This principle focuses on using our brain's ability to build new neural connections to improve EDS symptoms of lack of body awareness and proprioception, allowing for a deeper understanding of your body’s limitations and capabilities.
Integrated Body Flow
we gradually introduce bigger and more complex movement patterns that challenge our balance and posture. We feel the body work together as a whole rather than segmented parts, allowing us to flow into our movements reducing strain and tension.
